Ben Lancaster
Chartered Financial Planner

Ben is an Associate Partner at The Cosgrove Partnership LLP, established in 2007.
In addition, he is a Chartered Financial Planner (Chartered ALIBF) and Pension Transfer Specialist (AwPETR). Achieving ‘Chartered Financial Planner’ status and also being recognised as a ‘Pension Transfer Specialist’ highlights his commitment to the profession and, most importantly, providing clients with the best possible advice.
In November 2021, he was named by Citywire as one of the top 35 advisers in the UK under the age of 35 and, in 2022, was shortlisted for ‘Rising Star of the Year’ by Professional Adviser.
In additon, he is SOLLA (Society of Later Life Advisers) qualified, which means he can advise those in later life regarding the issues that can occur.
You can read over 130 excellent client reviews/testimonials on his VouchedFor profile.
Ben has benefitted greatly from working his way up the ladder at a large corporate financial planning business (Tilney, Smith & Williamson, now Evelyn Partners), culminating in him directly supporting one of the Partners in the Manchester office. After this, he worked at a senior level within a small business, Depledge SWM, before joining the Cosgrove Partnership.
His many years of financial planning experience and the superb support team he works with equip him with the ability to provide first-class advice and service.
Outside of work, Ben values quality time with his partner Sarah and their golden retriever, Gigi. He is also a keen golfer and plays to a single figure handicap (when time allows).
Jonathan Rider
Technical and Operations Director

Jonathan works behind the scenes, assisting Ben with reports, research and running the business. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, the highest level of recognition offered by the PFS. He is also qualified as a Chartered Financial Planner, although he has chosen not to advise clients, and instead use his technical knowledge to assist Ben in a non-client facing role.
Jonathan started his financial planning career at Aviva in Norwich, where he spent six years working in various roles in pensions. After a brief stint at a local financial adviser, he then moved on to Harrold Financial Planning (HFP), now part of the Shackleton Group. There, he worked his way up from a paraplanner to Operations Manager, then finally Operations Director, before joining Ben.
Jonathan is an expert in all things process related, using technology to enhance the service received by all clients. He also provides support to Ben on all technical queries, such as pension and tax calculations, and writes client reports.
When not working, Jonathan spends as much time as he can with his wife, Claire, and daughter, Claudia. He enjoys holidaying (especially cruises), escape rooms and playing video and board games, as well as reading at least a book a week.
Jon Lancaster
Consultant

Jon remains a director of ‘Jon Lancaster Investment Services’ and a Partner in the Cosgrove Partnership. As Ben’s Father, he is on hand to provide valuable additional experience and counsel where required. Jon is a fully qualified financial planner and has over 35 years of experience working in senior financial services roles.
